Faith Spotted Eagle Speaks on Settler Colonialism with Longhouse Media

Faith Spotted Eagle (Dakota: Tunkan Inajin Win[1] or Tȟuŋkáŋ Inážiŋ Win “Standing Stone”; born 1948) is a Native American activist. She is a member of the Yankton Sioux Nation who helped block development of the Keystone XL pipeline and the Dakota Access Pipeline.

In the 2016 presidential election, she became the first Native American to receive an electoral vote for President of the United States; Spotted Eagle received one vote from a faithless elector in Washington, who cast a vote for her instead of Hillary Clinton.

Here she speaks with Longhouse Media about settler colonialism and its impacts on the Oceti Sakowin camp at Standing Rock.
