Minneapolis based rapper Tufawon has released a new music video “Pray” a single of off his Self Care EP.
With one last chance to create a winter themed video project this season, Tufawon hiked into the trails of the Mississippi River in his native Dakota territory in Minneapolis. He went out to capture the April snowstorm in all of its beauty. The song relates to his experience as an indigenous person and the trauma him and his people lived through historically and today. The river is a place of healing and prayer for the Minneapolis rapper and producer. A way to connect with his ancestors to find strength and courage after losing the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. He spent four months fighting to protect the water at Standing Rock. ‘Pray’ is one of the songs from his most recent project Self Care.
