An enrolled member of the Suquamish Tribe, Calina Lawrence was born and raised within her Indigenous culture in the Pacific Northwest area of Washington State.

Earlier this year, she was one of eight activists to accompany celebrity actresses at the Golden Globes, in solidarity with the Time’s Up Movement. The art-ivist has spent recent time traveling the country in advocacy for Native Treaty Rights and the “Mni Wiconi” (Water is Life) movement led by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe as well as the “NoLNG253” movement led by the Puyallup Tribe.

“Epicenter represents the intersection of my life story as a Pacific Northwest Native woman and the Bay Area birth place of my musical journey, where this album was inspired, written, and produced.” -Calina Lawrence
